Innovation in PVC Joinery: Cortizo Introduces the A 78 Hinged System
At Dressler, we’re always attentive to industry innovations that bring real value to architectural projects. That’s why we’re highlighting the latest release from Cortizo: the A 78 PVC hinged system — a solution that combines modern design, high performance, and efficiency in manufacturing processes.
High-Level Thermal and Acoustic Insulation
The A 78 system features a depth of 78 mm and a 6-chamber profile, allowing it to achieve a thermal transmittance value as low as Uw = 0.80 W/m²K. Its Passivhaus-certified version further improves performance (Uw ≥ 0.74 W/m²K), meeting the standards for warm-temperate climates.
This system also ensures excellent acoustic comfort, reaching sound insulation levels of up to 46 dB. This makes it an ideal solution for both residential buildings and high-performance commercial projects.
Optimized for Efficient Production and Large-Scale Projects
A key strength of the A 78 lies in its manufacturing efficiency. It allows the same reinforcement to be used in the sash, frame, and mullion, which simplifies serial production and helps reduce time and costs. This makes it a highly competitive option for large-volume window projects, without compromising on performance or design.
Cortizo emphasizes that this system is especially suited for medium to large-scale developments, offering agility in production while maintaining high quality.
Sleek Aesthetic and Maximum Natural Light
From a design standpoint, the A 78 system embraces a clean, straight-lined aesthetic in both the frame and glazing bead, in line with current architectural trends. It also features a reduced central mullion of just 110 mm and a minimal visible section of 98 mm, allowing for enhanced natural light — a growing priority in residential and commercial architecture.
The system is available in window, patio door, and door versions, with sashes up to 1400 mm wide, 2500 mm high, and a maximum weight of 130 kg.
Certified Performance in AEV Testing
The A 78 PVC system has passed rigorous Air, Water, and Wind (AEV) testing with excellent results:
- Air permeability: Class 4
- Water tightness: E1800
- Wind resistance: C5
These results confirm the system’s reliability under demanding weather conditions and compliance with technical building codes.
At Dressler, we value solutions that move the aluminum and PVC joinery sector toward higher standards in sustainability, comfort, and efficiency. The Cortizo A 78 system is a clear example of how PVC innovation continues to open up new opportunities for both professionals and developers seeking quality, design, and performance in their projects.
