Aluminium carpentry work on the IACTEC building
At the end of 2018, aluminium carpentry work was completed at the IACTEC (Space, Medical Technology and Large Telescopes) equipment headquarters. Work focused on the facades and the manufacture and installation of indoor carpentry, and the IACTEC building. This is one of the buildings promoted by INtech Tenerife at ‘Las Mantecas’ urban park.
This work, performed by Syocsa-Inarsa and designed by prestigious architectural firm Navarro Peralta Ayesa, has an office capacity of 70 people and more than 500 square metres of clean rooms, training and events rooms. It is also dedicated to R&D+I and technology transfer and public-private cooperation, as stated by the Canary Institute of Astrophysics (IAC) on its website.
It is located in the ‘INtech La Laguna’ Science and Technology Park, the new space dedicated to IAC’s technological and business cooperation, and shares a green area of 30,000 square metres together with other buildings of business and technological use. In addition, it is very close to both the university campus of the University of La Laguna and IAC’s own headquarters. Its activity is to be focused on astrophysics, space and scientific instrumentation for various sectors, such as the environment, medicine and security.
IACTEC, together with the NANOTEC building, also developed by Dressler Aluminio, represents a clear commitment by both the municipality of La Laguna and the Cabildo of Tenerife to innovation and technological development, making the island and the municipality a benchmark site for these new facilities.
