NANOTEC (Technology Centre for Nanomaterials and Sustainability)
At the end of 2018, work was completed on this NANOTEC building promoted by INtech Tenerife in ‘Las Mantecas’ urban park, in a space known as INtech La Laguna, and whose work was carried out by Acciona Construcción. Work focused on different areas of the facade and indoor carpentry.
This Technology Centre for Nanomaterials and Sustainability, linked to the University of La Laguna, is dedicated to understanding the behaviour of new multifunctional materials on various different scales, according to INtech Tenerife’s website.
Its main goal is the preservation of hybrid resources and the fight against pollution in various sectors such as industry, agriculture or urban planning, atmospheric and water pollution, recycling of waste water, climate change or environmental health.
Nanotec is comprised of 3 modules:
- Nanomac, focusing on R&D+I activities related to nanotechnology, advanced materials, energy and water.
- Sustains, aimed at R&D+I activities in sustainability, the environment and climate change.
- Space for synergies between both areas of knowledge and R&D.
