SunGuard SNX 70, the perfect balance between solar control and aesthetics

Architects have often had to sacrifice the general appearance of a façade when it contains high-performance glass. The SNX 70 now offers the perfect balance between solar control, natural transmission of light and a surprisingly clean aesthetic”

Guardian Glass Europe has launched a new product, SunGuard SNX 70, a glass that has light transmission and solar control approaching 70%, and high thermal insulation. This new glass has a characteristic, natural and clean appearance. Owing to its high quality and subtle reflectance, it has an incredible uniform aesthetic in the different viewing angles and design contours. Best Aluminium discusses this on its blog.

This contributes to energy efficiency, in addition to superior aesthetics, design and comfort for users, as SunGuard SNX 70 offers architects the opportunity to introduce more natural light. Occupants will benefit from greater well-being, especially in healthcare, education and office buildings. An increase in levels of natural light can contribute to better concentration, learning and even state of mind.

When combined with Guardian UltraClear® as a base, the glass is especially effective. It is available as SunGuard SNX 70 Ultra. This provides 68% light transmission, an Ug amount of 1.0 W/m2K and a 32% solar factor in standard double insulated units. Triple glazing standard units have 62% light transmission, an Ug amount of 0.5 W/m2K and a 30%
solar factor. Furthermore, the views from outside and inside allow the truest colours to be appreciated due to the higher transparency of the glass.

Regarding environmental certification, SunGuard SNX 70 can make a great contribution. In fact, it has an environmental product declaration (EPD) as part of the SunGuard range in Europe and Russia and is certified as Bronze under the Cradle to Cradle Certified® products programme evaluation.

This new product also gives buildings an elegant appearance owing to the 13% external glass reflection, making them appear more vivid and visually appealing to passers-by.
